(1883-1970) Born in Warsaw, Henri Hayden studied engineering and painting but gave up engineering to devote himself to painting. Relocating to Paris Hayden attended art school La Palette. His first one-man exhibition was held at the Galerie Druet, Paris in 1911. Painting early on in a Cubist style and friends with other artists in the movement including Picasso and Gris, Hayden moved to painting from nature after 1921.
